چکیده

Crude oil-polluted environment serves as a reservoir of microbial species, especially bacteria. Determining these bacterial genera is great benefit to environmental assessment and recovery. This study evaluated the bacteria selected heavy metals present in crude sites K-dere community, Ogoniland. The was carried out at Department Microbiology, University Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. soil, water, sediment samples were collected from pH composition each sample determined using meter spectrophotometer, respectively, while isolation biochemical characterization done evaluate heterotrophic hydrocarbon utilizing sample. Results revealed that iron (Fe) had highest concentration soil (898.77±0.022 mg/kg) (1556.7±0.163 samples, lead (Pb) lowest overall concentration. total petroleum (TPH) (10410.5 exceeded DPR standard limit 5000 mg/kg for soil. results culturable counts (TCHBC) (TCHUBC) showed TCHBC TCHUBC values 2.66 ± 0.03 x 108 CFU/mL 4.7 0.14 107 respectively. Morphological isolates presence Pseudomonas spp, Bacillus Acidiphilium Mycobacterium spp Leptospirillum with having percentage occurrence. has useful species sampled which can be harnessed an situ cleaning oil- contaminated site, tropical region.

Risk assessment and mitigation measures on the heavy metal polluted water and sediment of the Kolleru Lake in Andhra Pradesh, India

The Kolleru Lake is a famous Ramsar wetland of international significance. In this study heavy metal contents in water and sediment samples are reported. It is found that certain potentially toxic metal ions like chromium (4.5-80 µg/L), copper (1-20 µg/L), manganese (1-313 µg/L) and zinc (1.2-57 µg/L) are present in variable quantities in the lake water. When normalized with respect to concentr...

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
